Users

Users are individuals who are allowed access to ecobook and can make bookings. Their level of access depends on the type of role they play. The role that is assigned to a user depends on the group in which the user is.

A user is uniquely identified by his/her username. In addition to that, they can have an email and a full name.

Users can come from different sources.

Local Users

These users are created and managed within ecobook. They are assigned a password using which they must log into the system.

Directory Users

These are users that come from a third-party directory system such as Active Directory from Azure or Google Workspace User Directory. Their passwords are managed by the respective systems. Their profile information is imported from those systems and cannot be changed within ecobook.

Both types of users need to be associated with at least one group.
